Mochee May Madness 2025

Turning 15 is a milestone of meaning in many traditions. In Latin culture, a girl’s quinceañera is a lavish celebration. The traditional gift for a 15th anniversary is crystal, symbolizing the clarity a relationship has grown into over time. In the social media world, it means you’ve been around longer than most of the platforms we scroll on today.

That’s us, that’s Mochee. We’re 15 this year. And we marked our crystal anniversary with our annual Mochee May Madness. To call it a “retreat” isn’t super accurate. While there is a lot of learning that takes place, I think there’s technically too much recreational drinking to equate it to a rejuvenating getaway. Rather, it’s the one time of year that our whole entire team gathers at our office in Miami. We get to spend a few days together workshopping new ideas, solving problems collaboratively, sharing honest feedback, and reflecting on how far we’ve come…maybe it is more of a retreat than we realize.
We kicked off the first day with ice breakers, that mostly only serve the purpose of reminding us all how funny we actually are as a group. Then we dove right in with presentations that each of us put together. We talked about high-def video production (yes, we do that too), played a trivia game that put our knowledge to the test and caused a few spats, and sat through an ever-so-slightly threatening session from a Managing Partner on how to differentiate our many real estate clients – who, no matter what, will not be described as “luxury” over and over again.

Our paid media team all the way from Colombia dropped some serious wisdom on robust paid strategies that are bold, smart and designed to drive results for our clients. The work day ended with the Gen Z Mochees forcing the completely cringed-out geriatric Mochees to star in TikToks, and then we packed up our stuff to head to our afternoon activity.
Padel is basically like bougie pickelball. Some of us are really coordinated, some us of aren’t. Some of us are really competitive, some of us aren’t.  Ultimately, it probably tore us apart as a team more than united us.

The next day in office was another day full of reports, strategies, case studies, and industry updates. We talked about LinkedIn, Substack ( seriously, you’re just now realizing we really do it all?) and dedicated a decent chunk of the day to coming up with never-been-done-before ideas. Because if there’s anything we know about social, it’s that innovation drives engagement and originality wins attention. In this constantly-changing social environment, we plan to stay ahead. Spoiler alert: if you see a really creepy AI iguana character on our TikTok, you can thank Nico.

We spent that evening at a bougie bowling alley where apparently Ne-Yo and other pseudo-celebrities sometimes come? The coordinated and competitive trend followed us here too, but overall less sweat than Padel.

Finally to Friday, TGIF! This is the thing that really sets us apart from other agencies – our capacity to take fun very, very, very seriously. We took two oddly-named boats out to a sand bar where we saw dolphins, chugged seltzers, and ate Amy’s favorite gourmet sandwiches. We drove Jet-Skis, blasted our perfectly curated playlist, floated the day away, and even hosted a party crasher if you can believe it.

All in all, our 15th anniversary was truly a special one. Our team left feeling laser-focused, our brains overflowing with ideas, plus a little giddy from all the IRL laughs. We were all so impressed with one another, and reminded that our best ideas start with just hearing each other out. We get the whole clarity thing now. 15 years in, the path ahead for Mochee is crystal clear, and it’s paved with purpose, passion, and so many more wins.
